King Felipe Presents Copa del Rey Awards on Final Day

Spain’s King Felipe VI delivered the prizes to the winning teams of the 34th edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE sailing competition during a ceremony at the Ses Voltes Cultural Center in Palma de Mallorca this evening.

Eight teams – four Spanish, two American, one Japanese, one Italian – were named the 2015 champions in their individual categories.

Earlier in the day, King Felipe received a visit from his wife, Queen Letizia, and their two daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, on board the yacht he captained this week, the Aifos.

Other members of the King’s family – his sister Elena and her children, as well as his mother Queen Sofia – have also been seen out and around the Real Club Náutico de Palma this week to watch the competition.
