Frederik, Mary and Children Watch Riding Parade Outside Gråsten Palace
Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary brought their four children out this morning to watch the Gråsten Ring Rider Association’s annual parade outside the gates of Gråsten Palace, the summer residence of the royal family.
Also joining the family was Frederik’s cousin, Prince Gustav zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, and his partner Carina Axelsson.
About 300 riders from local riding clubs and associations paraded past the main gates of the Palace, each organisation stopping to present the royals with bouquets of flowers – little Princess Josephine, with her left arm in a blue cast following her riding accident last week, appeared to designate herself the official bouquet receiver.
Big sister Princess Isabella received her own personal bouquet of flowers during the event, when one of the groups specifically brought flowers for her. Prince Vincent also got into the spirit, accepting a bouquet himself, while the family’s eldest child Prince Christian seemed content with patting the horses and chatting with dad.
