Ladies’ Day At Royal Ascot

Day three of Royal Ascot is traditionally Ladies’ Day, bringing out the biggest and brightest outfits of the meet.

The Queen had many confused with her Angela Kelly outfit as the debate over the precise colour of her coat left some bookies having to pay out on several colours. For the record, it was apparently confirmed to be ‘pistachio’. She went on to present the Gold Cup later in the day.

Princess Beatrice joined her grandparents and father, the Duke of York, in the first carriage of the procession, while Princess Eugenie rode in the second with the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence. The Countess of Wessex, attending without her husband, was resplendent in a grey knit dress with white patterning on the skirt paired with a stunning hat.

Also present for Ladies’ Day were Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece and his wife Marie-Chantal, who donned quite a large beige Philip Treacy hat.
