Charles and Camilla Host Tea For World War Two Veterans
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall hosted an intimate tea at Clarence House this afternoon for veterans from the Battle of Britain Fighter Association.
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla were joined by seven veterans and members of their families for sandwiches, scones and tea. The couple had lengthy chats with the former pilots and aircrew, discussing a number of topics including the changes in helicopters over the decades and grandchildren.
“He [Prince Charles] was saying Princess Charlotte does sleep through the night and it was much easier on mum than Prince George,” one of the veterans later said to the Press Association.
The Duchess meanwhile joked with one veteran about the benefits of red wine and whisky.
