The Crown Prince Couple of Denmark began their three-day business trip to Germany today, arriving in Hamburg early this morning ahead of an official reception at the Town Hall with Mayor Olaf Scholz.

Prince Frederik and Princess Mary then took part in a number of seminars promoting Danish design, food produce and sustainability efforts. At the ‘Tasty Living’ seminar, the Crown Princess took part in the cooking exhibition, helping to prepare a salad dish with Danish chef Thorsten Schmidt (Mary has regularly been apart of the cooking aspects of previous business trips).

After a lunch with the business delegation and the Danish Ambassador to Germany, Per Poulsen-Hansen, the couple went their separate ways for the afternoon program. Crown Prince Frederik visited the Asklepios Hospital in Barmbek and attended a conference on sustainable living at the HafenCity University.

Meanwhile, Crown Princess Mary opened the Danish design exhibition put together by designer Norbert Engelbrecht at the design centre Stilwerk, and visited the Edeka supermarket in the Rindermarkt Hall to meet with Danish produce exhibitors that sell their products there.

A dinner at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce concluded the first day.

Over 100 Danish companies are taking part in the trip, which aims to promote and foster Danish business and exports to the German market under the theme ‘Danish Living’.
