Royal Windsor Horse Show Kicks Off For 2015
Queen Elizabeth II was joined by the Duchess of Cornwall as she attended the opening day of the Royal Windsor Horse Show today.
The two women chatted happily as they stood watching some of the competitions, including the Novice Heavyweight Hunter contest which saw the Queen’s horse Tower Bridge come third. Another of the Queen’s horses, Barker’s Shop, placed second in a different event.
During the day, Camilla met the youngsters competing in the Pony Club Mounted Games, and also bought some children’s pyjamas at the shopping village set up for the Show.
The first day of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, an annual event first held in 1943, is dubbed ‘Windsor Wednesday’ as entry is free and the public are welcomed on to the private grounds of Windsor Castle.
