Swedes Celebrate The King’s Birthday
The Swedish Royal Family were out in force yesterday to celebrate King Carl Gustaf’s 69th birthday.
His Majesty was joined for the first time in the courtyard of the Royal Palace of Stockholm by his entire family (usually, he is only accompanied by Prince Carl Philip to take the military salute and greet well-wishers).
Princess Estelle – as usual – was quite pleased with the tunes performed by the Royal Swedish Army Band, dancing around to the beat in her blue double-breasted coat. She attempted to get cousin Leonore in to the action, but the youngest member of the Bernadotte clan decided that it was more fun to sit on the ground instead.
Later, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia appeared on the palace balcony with their two granddaughters.
