King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and his wife Queen Silvia yesterday opened the doors of the Upper South guard chamber where they inaugurated the exhibition “Hedvig Eleonora – the Swedish Baroque Queen”. This year’s exhibition is to mark the 300th anniversary of Queen Hedvig Eleonora’s passing. The exhibition is being held at Drottningholm Palace where exhibitions, lectures and concerts are being held.

During the Queen’s speech, she said “Hedvig Eleonora understand how the architecture, art and furnishings could be used to convey messages. Both at present and for posterity. A large part of the cultural heritage that she left behind at Drottningholm, we can still take part of, enjoy and be proud of. “

Princess Christina also attended the opening.
