Princess Beatrix Marks Anniversary of King Willem Fund
As patron of the King Willem Fund, Princess Beatrix today attended a celebration in London to mark the 140th anniversary of the fund’s creation.
Princess Beatrix first attended a service at the Austin Friars Church (City of London) before attending a reception at the Carpenters’ Hall with members of the Dutch community in the United Kingdom, and those who are involved with the King Willem Fund.
The Fund was founded on May 9, 1874 by Dutch expats in the United Kingdom to honour the silver jubilee of King Willem III. The Fund was established to provide Dutch nationals, their spouses and families, or their widows in the UK with financial and moral support during times of crisis.
