The Rose Ball 2015 Goes Art Deco
This year’s edition of the Bal de la Rose in Monaco took place last night with the theme ‘Le Rose Art Deco’. Prince Albert II and Princess Caroline hosted the annual gala dinner at Sporting de Monaco.
Monaco’s Sovereign was accompanied to the event by his elder sister Caroline and two of her children, Pierre and Charlotte Casiraghi. Pierre brought along his long-term girlfriend, Beatrice Borromeo. Princess Charlene was due to attend, but cancelled at the last minute as her infant daughter Princess Gabriella was not well.
The Duke and Duchess of Castro, and Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy were also in attendance.
Designer Karl Lagerfeld posed for photos with the Princely Family on the red carpet, as he created the interior decorations – featuring lots of white and gold tones, white and pink roses and mirrors – for the event for the fourth year in a row. British singer Lily Allen was the main entertainer.
Caroline, Charlotte and Beatrice all embraced this year’s theme in their attire, donning 1920s-style evening dresses with era-appropriate hairstyles. The three women also highlighted the colour theme of the evening – Caroline in white, Charlotte in pink and Beatrice in gold.
The Bal de la Rose raises money for the Princess Grace Foundation and is organised by the Monte-Carlo SBM Group. It was first held in 1954.
