Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

On March 17, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Ireland and other parts of the world in annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Mons Barracks in Aldershot to meet with the Irish Guards. Both William and Kate received shamrocks, and Kate had a go at placing a shamrock on the mascot of the Irish Guard, an Irish wolfhound, Domnhall.

Opting for a brown Catherine Walker coat instead of green, the Duchess of Cambridge conducted the traditional ceremony in presenting shamrocks to the Guards, which she has been doing since 2012. Prince George, the couple’s young son, was not forgotten during the ceremony as William was presented with a gift for the little Prince, which consisted of a packet of crayons and a bib.

After the ceremony, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a reception with the soldiers of the Irish Guard.
