Queen Maxima Launches Money Week 2015
Yesterday, Queen Maxima launched the fifth edition of “Money Week 2015” at the primary school OBS West in Capelle aan den IJssel. The Queen was accompanied by Sander Dekker, State Secretary of Education, Culture and Science.
Queen Maxima took part, along with Minister Dakker, in some lectures for students, teachers and parents. During the lectures the Queen spoke about the importance of learning how to manage money. The Queen also spoke to the children about how they spend and save money.
“Money Week 2015” started yesterday March 9 and will last until March 13 and it is an initiative of Platform Wiser Money Matters, organized by the Ministry of Finance. Since 2010, Queen Maxima is Honorary Chairman of the Platform Wiser Money Matters.
The purpose of this initiative is to teach elementary school students how to manage money. During this week the students learn how to deal with money with the help of employees of banks and insurance companies with workshops and lectures.
