The de Launoit Wing, named in honour of the former President of the Music Chapel Count Jean-Pierre de Launoit, has doubled the size of the Music Chapel and cost €10.5million to build.

Queen Paola, who is the honorary chairman of the Music Chapel, officially opened the new wing, before she and her husband were given a tour by Bernard de Launoit, the organisation’s current President. The couple watched as students and teachers demonstrated their talents in the state-of-the-art facility.

The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel is an organisation which was founded in 1939, and today provides residence to 60 students a year while they enhance their talents in one of the six main disciplines focused on at the centre: voice, violin, piano, cello, viola and chamber music.
