On January 11, 2015 King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan paid a short visit to France to take part in an anti-terrorism march. The march was called by French President, François Hollande, to condemn the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

Their Majesties were received by President Hollande at the Elysee Palace before they attended the march in honour of the 17 victims of the terrorist attacks along with other world leaders.

Jordan’s Queen also expressed her shock and pain on social media, writing on her official accounts of Twitter and Facebook that she felt “offended” that they had used Islam to defend their attacks and there was “no justification” for the shootings.
