Death of Princess Amelie of Fürstenberg
Princess Amelie of Fürstenberg passed away yesterday, following surgery at the Villingen-Schwenningen Hospital. The Princess was 66.
She was born in April 1948, the eldest of six children born to Joachim Egon, Fürst of Fürstenberg and Countess Paola zu Königsegg-Aulendorf. She never married, and has suffered from ill health for a number of years.
Her elder brother, Heinrich, the current head of the Fürstenberg Princely House, issued a statement saying, “The death of my oldest sister has filled our family with great sadness and deep sorrow.”
The Princess is survived by her mother, her five siblings and their families. A private funeral will take place in the coming days in Neudingen.
