King Carl Gustaf Hosts Parliamentary Dinner
The King of Sweden hosted a parliamentary dinner at the Royal Palace of Stockholm this evening, in honour of the new government which was sworn in earlier this month.
Among the 460 guests were the new Prime Minister, Stefan Löfven, his cabinet ministers, the President of the Swedish Parliament, Urban Ahlin, and all members of the Riksdag. They were greeted by King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Prince Carl Philip before a concert took place in the Rikssalen.
Following the conclusion of the performance, which took the audience through a journey from 1500 until now with classical and folk music, dinner was served in the Banquet Hall.
It is a Swedish tradition that the monarch invites the new government for dinner following a general election.
