Honduran President Visits Spain
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia today hosted a lunch at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honour of the visiting President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado, and his wife.
The official party posed for photographs, before heading in to the dining room. The luncheon was attended by Spain’s Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, various ministers, and officials and business leaders. In their speeches, both King Felipe and President Hernandez spoke of the two nations’ good relationship. “Honduras will always have the support of Spain,” the King said, with Spain confirming that they will be increasing the amount set aside for development projects in Honduras.
Earlier in the day, the King had an audience with the President at Zarzuela Palace.
The President of Honduras today completed a three-day visit to Spain, in which he delivered the keynote speech at the opening of the 2014/2015 school year at the European University of Madrid.
