Prince Albert Completes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Prince Albert II of Monaco has become one of the latest famous faces to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which aims to raise awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
A video released by the Prince’s Palace on Facebook shows Prince Albert standing on a cliff face overlooking his principality, where he upturns a bucket of ice water over his head. The Prince said he was “extremely proud and happy to be apart of this process” and that he would be making a personal donation to the cause.
Prince Albert then nominated France’s President François Hollande, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and Nike co-founder Philip Knight.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has gone viral over the past two months, with over $USD100million being raised worldwide since July to go towards research into the neurodegenerative disease. Others who have participated in the challenge include former US President George W. Bush, Mark Zuckerberg and Vogue‘s Anna Wintour.
