The Crown Prince of Jordan Turns Twenty

Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah celebrates his 20th birthday this Saturday.

Prince Hussein was born in Ammam on June 28, 1994 as the eldest child of the-then Prince Abdullah bin Al-Hussein and Princess Rania, now the King and Queen of Jordan. He was named after his paternal grandfather, the late King Hussein bin Talal.

The young prince was appointed heir to the throne by a Royal Decree issued on July 2, 2009. Since then, he accompanied his father on several official occasions. He has also been involved in many inititives related to youth and sports in Jordan, such as “Haqiq” and “Qusai”.

Prince Hussein, who completed his secondary education at King’s Academy, is currently studying international history at Georgetown University. In addition to academic studies, the Prince is also working on his military career with the special Jordanian Army Forces. He successfully completed recently a parachute jumping training course in the United States.

The Crown Prince has three younger siblings: Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem.
