The Duke of Cambridge’s 32nd Birthday
On June 21, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, celebrated his thirty second birthday.
Prince William of Wales was born on 21 June 1982 at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, England. He is the eldest child and son of the Prince of Wales and his former wife; Diana, Princess of Wales (née Lady Diana Spencer). He has a brother, Prince Henry of Wales (better known as “Harry”; born in 1984). He was christened on 4 August 1982 in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace. His godparents were Constantine II of Greece, Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy, the Duchess of Westminster, Lady Susan Hussey, Lord Romsey and Sir Laurens van der Post. William’s full name is William Arthur Philip Louis.
Prince William began his education at Jane Mynor’s Nursery School and also Wetherby School, which were both in London. He also attended Ludgrove School in Wokingham, as well as Eton College in Berkshire and St. Andrew’s University in Scotland.
On 29 April 2011, Prince William married Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London, England. Upon the wedding, they were granted the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in England, Earl and Countess of Strathearn in Scotland and Baron and Baroness Carrickfergus in Ireland. William and Catherine have a son, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, who was born in 2013. Prince William is also a godfather to Prince Constantine-Alexios of Greece and Denmark, Tom Pettifer and Grace van Cutsem. Tom and Grace were members of the bridal party at William’s wedding.
