Easter Holidays with the Spanish Royal Family
Members of the Spanish Royal Family arrived on the Balearic Island of Mallorca during the Holy Week to start the traditional short Easter Holidays at the Marivent Palace in Palma de Mallorca.
Earlier last week, Her Majesty Queen Sofia accompanied by her younger sister, HRH Princess Irene of Greece were the first royal arrivals on the island. On Holy Tuesday, The Queen and her sister attended the German Requiem concert at The Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma. The King was away on an Official Visit to Kuwait & The United Arab Emirates for most of the week. He returned to Spain on Holy Thursday where he attended the Copa del Rey Final between Real Madrid and Barcelona at Estadio Mestalla in Valencia.
The Infanta Elena, Duchess of Lugo accompanied by her aunt Infanta Margarita, Duchess of Soria attended the Good Friday procession in Madrid.
On Easter Sunday Morning, Their Majesties The King and Queen accompanied by TRH The Prince & Princess of Asturias, their daughters, Infantas Leonor & Sofia and The Infanta Elena, Duchess of Lugo arrived at the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma for Easter Sunday Mass. The Royal Family posed for a series of photos and waved to the large crowds assembled outside the Cathedral before Mass.
