Princess Mako attended the graduation ceremony at the university’s campus, where she received a degree majoring in art and cultural heritage. Before the ceremony, she posed for photographers in the university courtyard in her graduation cap and gown, and answered brief questions.

“I enjoyed and will never forget the four years of my college life,” she said.

Throughout the Princess’s university education, she has spent time abroad in Ireland and Scotland. She studied English at the University College Dublin in 2010, and was an exchange student at the University of Edinburgh in 2012.

According to the Imperial Household Agency, Princess Mako will not be pursuing further education or a career, she will instead focus on public duties supporting the Imperial Family. In September and October, she will be the honorary chair of the International Ceramics Festival Mino held in Gifu Prefecture.
