Norwegian Royals with Princess Beatrix at the Holmenkollen
This weekend, the annual FIS Nordic Weltcup at the Holmenkollen in Oslo took place and as every year, the Norwegian Royal Family showed up to watch and cheer for the athletes. This year, they had a royal guest from the Netherlands with them: Princess Beatrix, who spent the weekend with the Norwegian Royals.
She joined King Harald, Queen Sonja, Princess Astrid (King Harald’s sister), Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit with their children Ingrid Alexandra, Sverre Magnus and Marius Borg Høiby in the royal box. Everybody was in a good mood when they first saw a Norwegian double win in the womens’ 30km cross country ski race, and later watched the Norwegian Ski Jumper Anders Bardal win the second place behind German Severin Freund.
Following the tradition, the Royals received the winners in the royal box to congratulate them personally.
Already yesterday, King Harald and Princess Astrid watched the competitions at the Holmenkollen and congratulated the winners German Johannes Rydzek, Nordic Combined, and Sweden’s Daniel Richardsson, 50km cross country skiing.
