Danes On Winter Vacation in Switzerland
The younger members of the Danish royal family have spent their winter vacation in Switzerland this past week. Both Princes Frederik and Joachim, and their families, spent the week in Verbier and Villars-Sur-Ollons respectively.
Prince Joachim and his family offered a photo session for the press on February 13, inside a cafe nearby the chalet owned by Princess Marie’s family. Joachim and Marie were joined by the four children of the family – Nikolai, Felix, Henrik and Athena. Little Athena was content to munch on some biscuits during the session, while Prince Henrik playfully nudged his brother Felix in an attempt to entice him into a wrestling match.
As their father told reporters that the family had had a lovely time in Villars, it was the two eldest boys stood out for their skiing attire – a helmet-mounted camera for Nikolai, and lime green ski pants for Felix.
The following day, February 14, it was the Crown Princely Family’s turn to pose for the press. The shoot took place nearby the Restaurant Carrefour, with the family of six skiing and tobogganing down a small hill. Prince Christian and Princess Isabella left their parents and younger siblings behind as they skied their way down the hill, before returning to the top for repeat goes. Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine had to settle for a toboggan ride with their parents, and rolling around in the snow.
