Farewell Party For Princess Beatrix

Last Saturday, February 1st, in the convention center Ahoy in Rotterdam a thanksgiving party took place to celebrate the 33 years of the reign of Queen Beatrix.

The party was attended by 4000 people and members of the Dutch Royal Family: King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien, Princess Mabel, Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, Prince Maurits, Princess Marilène, Prince Pieter-Christiaan, Princess Anita, Prince Floris, Princess Irene, Prince Carlos, Princess Anne-Marie, Prince Jaime, Princess Viktoria, Princess Margarita, Mr. Tjalling ten Cate, Princess Carolina, Mr. Albert Brenninkmeijer, Princess Christina and Mr. Bernardo Guillermo.

The program of the party included musical performances by Dutch Wind Ensemble in collaboration with the Dutch Dance Theatre and Corpus Acrobatics, Bart Schneemann, oboist and artistic director of the Dutch Wind Ensemble composed the program. There were also spoken tributes to Princess Beatrix.

The thank-you party ended with the song Princess Beatrix, Chapeau sung by Chantal Janzen, the presenter of the evening. After the party the Princess met the participating artists. A private reception was held for the official guests.

The party was originally scheduled for September 14th, 2013 but it was postponed due to the death of Prince Friso.
