Victoria and Daniel’s Two Day Visit to Germany

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel made a two day visit to Germany this week. They visited Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Essen.

Before the visit, Crown Princess Victoria gave an interview, where she talked about subjects such as her duties as Queen and being a mother to Princess Estelle, in which she revealed that Estelle enjoys it when Victoria reads the Pipi Longstocking books to her, and she likes reading them to Estelle.

On the first day, January 28, the couple visited the town of Hamburg. They arrived at 9:30am and were greeted by Olaf Scholz, the Mayor of Hamburg. At 10:20am, Victoria attended the conference “Modern Green Cities – Opportunities for Businesses in Sweden and Germany”. At midday, Victoria inaugurated the exhibition “Jung. Innovativ. Genial. Preisgekröntes Schwedisches Design” at the Museum of Ethnology. The couple then attended a dinner at Schloss Eller.

On the second day, the couple visited the towns of Düsseldorf and Essen. Whilst in Düsseldorf, Victoria visited the Ericsson Headquarters and attended the seminar “The Digital Economy: Opportunities and Challenges for German and English Business”. After the seminar, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were received by Dirk Elbers, the Mayor of Düsseldorf, in Düsseldorf’s town hall.

In Essen, Crown Princess Victoria was received by Reinhard Pass, the mayor of Essen at Zeche Zollverein, a coal mine. The couple then visited the Red Dot Museum, and the exhibition “Sweden at its best: the Red Dot Award-winning design from the North”.

The trip ended with a round table discussion in the Zollverein area, in the SANAA building.
