What to expect at 2013’s Christmas at Sandringham
It has been said that 30 members of the Royal Family will be celebrating their Christmas with the Queen and Prince Philip at Sandringham, in Norfolk. Because of the large number of guests, some royals have been asked to sleep in the Servant’s Quarters and the servants have been asked to sleep elsewhere.
Amongst those sleeping in the Servant’s Quarters will be the Viscount and Viscountess Linley and their two children, Charles and Margarita. Lady Sarah Chatto, her husband Daniel and her children Samuel and Arthur will be sleeping in “The Bachelor Wing”, so called because it houses the single male servants.
The Queen has said that she is “delighted” to have so many members of her family staying with her this Christmas. In 1964, The Royal Family was so large that they had to spend Christmas at Windsor Castle as Sandringham wasn’t big enough.
