Spanish Royal Family Release Christmas Cards
The Spanish Royal Court has released the official 2013 Spanish Royal Family Christmas cards this week.
The first card was from the King and Queen, which featured a 16th century Nativity scene – the “Adoration of the Shepherds” – by Italian painter Jacopo Bassano, which forms part of the Collection of the National Museum of the Prado in Madrid.
The second card released featured the Prince and Princess of Asturias and their daughters, Infantas Leonor and Sofia. The photo of the Asturias family was taken in October during a family visit to to the El Prado Museum, they are posing in front of a famous portrait of Infanta Margarita Theresa of Spain by Spanish court painter, Diego Velázquez.
The Christmas cards of Infantas Elena, Cristina, Pilar and Margarita are not published on the Spanish Royal Site, Casa Real.
