Maud Windsor Christened at St James’s Palace

Little Maud Windsor, the four-month-old daughter of Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor, was christened yesterday at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace.

The celebration was a small family affair, with the royal family only represented by the Kent branch. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, the infant’s grandparents, were photographed beaming from their car upon arrival to the palace for the service, accompanied by their daughter, Lady Gabriella.

In keeping with Windsor family tradition, Maud wore the replica Honiton lace christening gown which has been used as a family christening gown for over a century (the original was made in 1841 for Queen Victoria’s eldest child, Vicky –  the replica was commissioned by the Queen in 2008).
