Victoria’s Volvo Ocean Race Kiss
Crown Princess Victoria has completed an official visit to Brazil, a visit which focused on the 2009 Volvo Ocean Race in Rio de Janeiro.
On her first official day in Brazil, April 1st, the Crown Princess attended a seminar called “Children with Disabilities and an Independent Life” in the country’s capital. Later that day, Victoria visited the Grael Foundation. The foundation focuses on children and young adults in need to learn to sail, swim and learn seamanship.
The following day, April 2nd, Victoria attended the Ericsson Corporate Responsability Round Table meeting. And it wasn’t all work for the Princess while in Rio. She was joined by her fiance, Daniel Westling, and the pair enjoyed a romantic walk along the famed Copacabana Beach later that evening.
But Victoria appeared to have the most fun on April 3rd, when she visited the participants of the Volvo Ocean Race at the Port of Rio de Janeiro. Here, she posed with the Ericsson Race Team, and was given a kiss by the team’s skipper, Magnus Olsson. The Princess didn’t seem phased at all, lapping up the attention with a hearty laugh and smile. That night, Victoria attended the Ericsson party at the Museum of Modern Art, wearing a stunning hot pink dress.
On April 4th, came the main day of the visit. Crown Princess Victoria was a guest on board the “Ericsson 4” sailboat during an in-port race in Guanabara Bay. Victoria had a ball, both on the boat and back on shore, snapping some souvenir shots and posing for the photographers. She later handed over the winner’s trophy to Spanish team “Telefonica Blue”, who took out the in-port competition.
The Crown Princess and Mr Westling will spend a few extra days in Brazil on a private vacation, before heading back to Stockholm later this week.
