Prince Sverre Magnus’s 8th Birthday
Prince Sverre Magnus turns 8 yesterday. He was born on December 3rd, 2005 in Rikshospitalet in Oslo as the second and youngest child of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
Prince Sverre Magnus is third in line of succession to the Norwegian throne after his father and his elder sister Princess Ingrid Alexandra. Both his names have a royal history: King Sverre reigned in the 12th century and Magnus has been the name of seven Norwegian kings, as well as his father’s middle name. At home he is only called Magnus.
Among other things he likes is playing the drums.
Traditionally, birthdays in the Crown Princely family start with getting waken up with cake on the bed and in the evening, King Harald and Queen Sonja might come to Skaugum (the Crown Princely Family’s home) as every year to celebrate their grandchildren’s birthday with all the family.
