Prince George’s Christening
At 3pm today, Prince George, the son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was christened at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.
The three month old prince wore a replica of the Honiton lace gown made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter, Victoria, the Princess Royal, in 1841. The little prince was baptised using water from the River Jordan.
Prince George has seven godparents: Zara Phillips, Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Earl Grosvenor, Julia Samuel and William van Cutsem. The ceremony was attended by The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, the Duchess of Cambridge’s family and the godparents.
During the ceremony, Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton read passages from the Bible.
After the ceremony, guests where invited to Clarence house for tea and slices from the Duke and Duchess’s wedding cake was served.
