King Juan Carlos I ‘Feeling Better’
October 14th, 2013
King Juan Carlos held his first public appearance yesterday at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid in almost two weeks after his recent hip surgery.
The Spanish Monarch, accompanied by his son, Prince Felipe, held a meeting with the Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, and Foreign Minister José Manuel García-Margallo at the King’s private office.
Looking thinner than before his surgery, the King discussed details of the upcoming Panama Ibero-American Summit, which takes place on October 18th and 19th in Panama City. The King will not be attending, but Prince Felipe will travel to Panama later this week.
Following the fifty minute meeting, the King later told the present media that he was doing “very well.”
