Spanish Royal Ladies Support Red Cross Fundraising Day
October 3rd, 2013
As with previous years on the Día de la Banderita, female members of the Spanish Royal Family were out in force to preside over the Madrid ‘Día de la Banderita de la Cruz Roja Española’ or the Spanish Red Cross Fundraising Day.
Attending this year’s fundraising stalls were Queen Sofia, Princess Letizia and Infanta Elena.
In a relaxed atmosphere, all three royal ladies posed for photos with well wishers and donators. Prince Felipe also later made an appearance and greeted his wife, mother and sister at their separate fundraising stalls.
The Spanish Red Cross Day is one of the organisation’s chief sources of funding and helps them to cover their various charity projects. The Spanish Royal Family has a history and tradition with the Spanish Red Cross of over 100 years.
Queen Sofia is the honorary president of the Spanish Red Cross.
