Belgian Photo Session in France
Following his installation at King of the Belgians this past Sunday, King Philippe and his family have headed to France for their summer vacation.
The King, his wife Mathilde, and their four children – Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eléonore – posed for photographers yesterday to mark the beginning of their vacation in L’Ile d’Yeu, Vendee, an island just off western France.
The family was photographed biking and walking along the shore, in amongst the rocks lining the water.
Following the photo session, Belgian media reported that King Philippe and 12-year-old Elisabeth – who will one day become Belgium’s first Queen Regnant – can no longer fly in the same airplane. Queen Mathilde and the children flew in a commercial plane, while the King flew in a military plane.
