Don Felipe Juan de Marichalar Turns 15

Don Felipe Juan de Marichalar y Borbón celebrated his 15th birthday on July 17th.

The eldest son of Infanta Elena of Spain and Don Jaime de Marichalar, he is currently fifth in the line of succession to the Spanish Throne. Don Felipe Juan was named in honour of his uncle Prince Felipe and great-grandfather, Infante Juan the Count of Barcelona, but he is often referred to by his Saints name ‘Froilán’, who is the patron saint of Lugo.

His father, Don Jaime, is the fourth son of the late 8th Count of Ripalda.

Don Felipe Juan is the eldest grandson of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, and he most recently accompanied his mother and family to the centenary anniversary mass of his the Count of Barcelona at the Capilla Real in Madrid.
