Guillaume and Stéphanie Visit New York
The Hereditary Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg were in New York City earlier this week, to attend the postponed presentation ceremony of the Luxembourg American Business Award.
In the evening of July 9th, Guillaume and Stéphanie attended the gala dinner where Airtech Advanced Materials Group was the recipient of the 2012 edition of the award. The company manufactures equipment and supplies for the manufacturing of composite parts, which are used in things such as aerospace and wind aviation. The company’s manufacturing site in Differdange, Luxembourg was their first site outside the US.
Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume has presented the award, which aims to showcase the economic relationships between North America and Luxembourg, at each event since 2002. He serves as the Honorary President of Business of Luxembourg.
For the gala, originally planned to be held on October 30th last year but postponed because of Hurricane Sandy, the Hereditary Grand Duchess wore a silver-grey evening gown with a ruched bust and beaded waist. It also featured beaded straps, and was paired with a silver clutch and a simple updo. The gown is believed to a loan from Grand Duchess Maria Teresa’s closet; she wore it as part of a previous year’s National Day celebrations.
In addition to attending the award ceremony, Guillaume and Stéphanie were the guests of honour at a reception on Wednesday night. With a guest list of over 100 individuals of New York’s Luxembourg community, it was hosted by the New York Consulate to Luxembourg.
