Princess Mary Presents Medals at Free From Bullying Relay
Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary was present yesterday at the sixth annual ‘Free From Bullying’ relay event held at Fælledparken in Copenhagen.
Princess Mary, wearing a white top and jeans, took part alongside the hundreds of children running the relay in a pre-relay warm-up. It was then time for the yellow-shirt clad children to run the kilometer-long relay track, with the Princess and presenters from children’s station DR Ramasjang – Mikkel, Sofie and Katrine – waiting for them at the finish line. Each participating child was presented with a medal on a red and white ribbon by Princess Mary.
For the first time, the Crown Prince Couple’s eldest child, Prince Christian, took part in the relay.
The relay is held each June, hosted by The Mary Foundation and the Save the Children Fund, both of which Mary is involved with. The aim of the relay is the show the participating children, who are up to the age of 15, that the “fight against bullying, like a baton relay, requires cooperation.”
