Spanish Royal Family attend Easter Sunday Mass
March 31st, 2013 – Palma de Mallorca
Members of the Spanish Royal Family attended the traditional Easter Sunday Mass at the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Palma de Mallorca.
Present this year were Queen Sofia, the Prince and Princess of Asturias along with their two daughters Infantas Leonor and Sofia, and Infanta Elena. King Juan Carlos did not travel to the Balearic capital this Easter as he is still in recovery following his recent back surgery.
The Royal Family were greeted outside the Cathedral by yhe Bishop of Palma and members of the clergy. As with other years it was the little Infantas Leonor and Sofia who stole the limelight.
The presence of the Royal family at Easter Sunday Mass is a highlight for royal watchers and this was evident by the large crowds of well wishers who gathered outside the Gothic cathedral. Queen Sofia arrived in Palma de Mallorca earlier this week with her younger sister, Princess Irene of Greece.
