Prince Albert II attends Sainte-Dévote Celebrations
Prince Albert II attended the annual Sainte-Dévote Celebrations in Monaco on Saturday, January 26th.
The feast of Sainte-Dévote has a long tradition of devotion with the Monégasques Princely Family. The 4th century Christian martyr is the Patron Saint of both Monaco and Corsica. The Prince attended the traditional religious procession on his own this year. Last year he was accompanied by his wife and elder sister.
At the end of the procession, the Prince and the Archbishop of Monaco and other worshipers gathered in front of the Chapel of Sainte-Dévote where the boat burning ceremony took place.
On Sunday the 27th of January, Prince Albert attended Mass at Monaco Cathedral to mark the feast of the Patron Saint of the Principality. Unlike previous years there were no other members of the Princely family present.
