Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 9th Birthday
Yesterday, Princess Ingrid Alexandra celebrated her 9th birthday.
She was born on January 21st, 2004, at Rikshospitalet University Hospital in Oslo as eldest child of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. She is second in line of succession to the throne after her father Crown Prince Haakon. She has a younger brother, 7-year-old Prince Sverre Magnus, and a half-brother, Marius Borg Høiby, son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit from a previous relationship, who turned 16 years old about a week ago.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra has attended Jansløkka Elementary School since 2010. She has already carried out several official engagements. As in previous years, she joined the other members of the Royal Family on the Palace balcony to greet the annual children’s parade on May 17th (Norwegian Constitution Day) last year. She accompanied her parents on several official engagements during their county trip to Møre and Romsdal in 2012. She also attended the Save the Children’s Peace Prize Festival together with Crown Princess Mette-Marit in December.
Before Christmas, she appeared in the television broadcast ‘Julemorgen’ (Christmas morning) together with Crown Prince Haakon, where she answered some questions about Christmas and royal life, and presented a donation to the children’s environmental organization ‘Miljøagentene’ (Environmental Agents), which she is a member of.
In connection with her birthday, a new official three-generation-picture of King Harald, Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Ingrid Alexandra was released yesterday, which can be seen here in HQ.
