President Merit Award Awarded to Rulers of Dubai and Sharjah
President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan awarded Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, the President Merit Award 2012.
Sheikh Mohammed was awarded for his efforts in distinguished development initiatives and community service. Sheikh Sultan was awarded for his role in the fields of culture and art. Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Sultan were both presented with the Zayed order.
The President said, “It is our duty to appreciate the deeds of those who exert utmost efforts for this dear country.” Sheikh Khalifa also honoured nine citizens with the appreciation award.
The President Merit Award is awarded to men and women who have put their country (the UAE) on the world map.
