Jordan’s Crown Prince Turns 18
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of Jordan celebrated his eighteenth birthday on Thursday.
Prince Hussein was born in Amman on June 28, 1994 as the eldest son of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan. He was named Crown Prince through a Royal Decree issued in July 2009.
According to Petra News Agency, the Crown Prince received a letter from his father congratulating and urging him on this occasion to follow in the steps of the Hashemite leaders and learn their vision for governance. King Abdullah added, “You are a Hashemite knight whom I have consecrated to the service of his country and loyal people, and the Arab and Islamic nation.”
The young Crown Prince completed his secondary education at the King’s Academy, graduating last May, and currently holds the rank of lieutenant in the Jordanian Armed Forces.
