Spanish Official Visit to the United States
New York City, USA – June 19th, 2012
Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Asturias started a five day official visit to the United States of America on Tuesday June 19th. The aim of this visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between the USA and the Kingdom of Spain.
The Prince and Princess arrived in New York City in the afternoon of June 19th, they were accompanied by a delegation of Spanish Foreign Affairs and Trade secretaries.
On Wednesday June 20th, the Prince of Asturias presided over the Global Business Colloquium, hosted at IESE Business School in New York City. Prince Felipe delivered a speech where he urged stronger Euro Zone institutions as a remedy for his country’s “serious economic difficulties.”
Following this, the Prince and Princess attended a luncheon with prominent Hispanic personalities in the residence of the Consul General of Spain in New York City.
After lunch, Their Royal Highnesses went onto the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute in New York, where they held a meeting with Hispanic leaders.
