Belgian Economic Mission to Japan, Days Five and Six
While the Princess Mathilde took a flight to come back in Belgium, Prince Philippe started his fifth day in Japan, on June 14, visiting the Panasonic Center, the multinational electronics corporation.
At the Panasonic Headquarters in Osaka the Prince, along with Belgian Ministers, discovered the newest technologies of Panasonic, including the new 3D technology. Prince Philippe also attended the signing ceremony of the collaboration agreement between Panasonic and Imec, a world-leading research in nano-electronics and nano-technology and also attended a decoration ceremony during which Mr Masayuki Matsushita, vice chairman of Panasonic Board, received a Belgian honorary distinction (Commander in the Order of Leopold).
In the early afternoon, the Prince visited the Headquarters of Daikin Corporation. After that the Prince inaugurated the ”Belgian Beer Weekend Osaka 2012”, he visited the different beer and food stalls and also he tasted some Belgian fries and a Belgian beer.
In the evening Prince Philippe was present at the closing cocktail of the seminar on Life Sciences and then he attended a gourmet dinner at Hotel Hilton Osaka.
On the last day of the economic mission, June 15, Prince Philippe visited the Silver Ginkakuji Temple in Kyoto. The Prince had lunch at the State Guest House with the Belgian delegations where they attended a classical Japanese dance show.
The economic mission ended with a press conference with Belgian journalists about the conclusions of the mission.
