Princess Beatrice of York and Sarah, Duchess of York attended a Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraiser event on May 15. The event, hosted by Heather Kerzner at Claridge’s Hotel, highlighted the work of Marie Curie nurses and the foundation’s other activities. Marie Curie nurses provide free end of life care to patients with terminal illness in their own homes or in one of their nine hospices.

At the end of the evening, a grand auction was held, which saw over £620,000 raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care overnight. The event also including moving speeches from Heather Kerzner, Matthew Freud and Saffron Aldridge who expressed their personal gratitude to Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses. Duchess of York and Princess Beatrice also took the time to talk to the selfless women thanking them for their remarkable work, and posed for a picture with some of them.

For the evening, the Duchess wore an elegant black dress with long sheer sleeves. Her daughter went for a more colourful choice with a high-slit bright red dress, and a jacket to keep her warm.
