Infanta Cristina, Children Return to Spain for Funeral

Her Royal Highness Infanta Cristina of Spain, Duchess of Palma and her four children, Don Juan Valentín, Don Pablo Nicolás, Don Miguel and Doña Irene Urdangarín, have returned to Spain for the funeral of the children’s paternal grandfather.
The father of the Duke of Palma, Juan María Urdangarín, died on Thursday, May 10th aged 79, following a long illness. His son, Don Inaki Urdangarín, had returned to Spain earlier this week.
Infanta Cristina and her children landed in Madrid early on Saturday morning and will travel to Vitoria for the funeral mass later today.
Yesterday, Queen Sofia, accompanied by Infanta Elena and the Queen’s younger sister, Princess Irene of Greece, paid a visit to the Urdangarín family residence to express their sincere condolences.
The private family funeral of Juan Urdangarín will take place later today at the Basilica de San Prudencio.
