King and Queen at XXIX International Journalism Awards 2012
Madrid – March 28th
Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the Eighth “Don Quijote” and XXIX International Journalism Awards 2012 ceremony at Casa de America on Wednesday March 28th in Madrid.
The King and Queen were accompanied to the awards ceremony by the Deputy Prime Minister and several other leading dignitaries. The awards recognize and highlight quality reporting published either in Spanish or Portuguese from across Latin America and the wider world.
King Juan Carlos during a speech stressed the “importance of journalistic excellence in the world today.”
Spanish journalist Ricardo Cantalapiedra Moro recieved the Don Quixote Award for Journalism, while the Bolivian journalist and writer Fernando Molina recieved the King of Spain award.
