Crown Prince Haakon has been present at the annual meeting every year since 2005 except for 2008. “It’s good to be here with an experienced companion,” said Crown Princess Mette-Marit. It’s the second time the couple attends together.

Crown Prince Haakon was an active member of Young Global Leaders, a forum under the auspices of the World Economic Forum, from its launch in 2005 until 2010. He has now become a new member of The Foundation Board of the Young Global Leaders Community. Crown Princess Mette-Marit was appointed Young Global Leader in January 2010.

The World Economic Forum was established in 1971 by the Swiss Professor Klaus Schwab, who still leads the forum. It is “an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.”

Crown Princess Mette-Marit arrived earlier and attended the Global Shapers and Young Global Leaders meetings in Davos on January 23rd and 24th.
