Joachim and Marie Take Newborn Daughter Home
Glowing parents, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark, took their newborn daughter home today.
The Princess was born on 24 January 2012 at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen and joined older brother, Prince Henrik, and older halfbrothers, Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix. She’s 10th in line to the Danish throne, after her uncle, The Crown Prince, his four children, her father, and her 3 older brothers. The Princess is the 8th grandchild of the Queen and Prince-Consort.
The names of the Princess will not be revealed until they are announced, most likely by her mother, at her christening.
21-gun salutes were fired to celebrate the birth of the new Danish Princess and the Danish flag flew from official buildings on the day of her birth. The Princess and her mother were visited in the hospital by among others, Prince Joachim with Princes Nikolai, Felix and Henrik, Queen Margrethe and Prince-Consort Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Alain Cavallier and Françoise Grassiot.
Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were married on 24 May 2008 and their first child, Prince Henrik, was born almost a year later, on 4 May 2009.
